AEP - NAC PERFORMANCES

TOGETHER WE DEFEND

Synopsis:

What are the pillars of Total Defence? With the new pillar of total defence being introduced, Digital Defence, we have to consider all 6 in order to defend our nation.

But what happens when someone wants to take away something so precious like your home, or even something you hold so dear? Will you still help protecting and defending it or would you just walk away? There is a sacred forest where no one knows about. However, due to technological advancements, even the sacred forest has gone digital or cyber. Almost every creature has a technological device that either assists them in their work or daily life.

Follow the story of the Grasshopper (Belalang), Butterfly (Kupu), Firefly (Angus) and the Ant (Semut) as they learn the importance of staying together even though they are different and the importance of being safe especially in this digital world. It may seem safe but even the slightest mistake can cause great devastation in the community.

Can they work together to maintain peace and harmony?

There will also be a Q and A after the show to emphasize what has been staged. Throughout the years, with the different themes of Total Defence each year, we have managed to adapt the show to put that in as well.

This performance is suitable for Total Defence, Racial Harmony, International Friendship Day and National Day.

LET'S PLAY A PART

Synopsis:

Have you played online gaming before? Have you ever wondered if you can apply what you play in your games into your daily life to help defend our country?

This is a story of how a classroom of students learns about the pillars of Total Defence by playing an interactive online game. Their teacher will explain to them the relations and what each pillar represents.

Learn about the aspects of Total Defence through an engaging plot where Jeremy, one of the students, tries to apply each pillar into his online interactive sports game that requires him to build his character at each level while playing a series of different sports game.

In the show, you will see the "computer characters" come to life to demonstrate how each pillar of total defence is vital in building their abilities.

This skit highlights the National Education messages in a fun and interact way for all students at different levels and teachers to enjoy. The show is interactive and there will be interaction between the characters and the audience (students). We will highlight on the 6 pillars of Total Defence and the characters will explain how each pillar is represented. Apart from that, students will learn that they can play a part in total defence as well through the performance. At the end of the show, the characters will re-iterate the messages / pillars so that students can better remember them.

RAYA MILLENIA

Synopsis:

Hari Raya is a yearly celebration of faith and happiness. However, the younger generation may not seem to appreciate or know the meaning behind the word, Hari Raya. They are are always stuck to technology. Not a bad thing and not a good thing as well if you are too attached to it. Do you remember back in the "Kampung Days"? The gotong royong? What if all that is forgotten, especially in today's generation? Will the spirits of the past come forth to remind people of what happen in the past?

Let us follow the story of a family who have not celebrated Hari Raya for years, but the “spirit” of Hari Raya still lives on, even in the digital world.

Riyan’s son is so attached to technology that he is becoming distant from his family. One day when he falls asleep, something happen.

An audience-interactive performance which we will be getting the students participating in the performance itself, it aims to entertain and educate, but it will also nurture the spirit of hari raya and togetherness.

NATIONAL EDUCATION PERFORMANCES

PERFECT HARMONY

Synopsis:

Have you ever felt as if you are different from the rest? Living in a community, we should always be friendly and help one another. If we see someone in need, we should always go out of your way to assist them and not ridicule them. Each individual is special and might be able to help us in any ways possible. We must always stay connected.

An adaptation mix of stories, this story has several options to choose from according to the different levels.

Starts off with a performer trying to set things up for a performance. He then sees some students teasing a new student for being different. This makes the new student really sad and feels emotionally depressed. The performer then comes in to tell them stories about friendship and why all of us should not be indifferent to each other, no matter where you come from.

We should always foster a great relationship amongst friends and build positive and happy relationships. Stories about how every individual is important and able to play their part in the community. We should always stay connected especially to each other's strengths as a united community. Develop positive relationships mentally, emotionally and psychologically.

This show is done through music, puppetry and masks and is interactive for the audience. We will highlight the importance of having good relations with people of different ethnicity, culture and habits.

BULLY - ME - NOT

Synopsis:

Have you ever been bullied before? Have you ever wondered why a bully likes to pick on someone smaller or vulnerable? If that happens, how will you deal with the bully without getting beaten up? Bullies are a common threat in society nowadays especially in schools. Without the knowledge on how to deal with them, a bully can terrify many people and that will affect the victim’s lives, physically and mentally.

In this show, you can see how one student (Damien) has been bullied on his first day of school and how he deals with it. Pressured and stressed over the bullying, he tries to discover and learn why bullies bully and what he can do to stop or at least deter bullies. There will be lots of audience interaction. It's that simple actually.
